Word For It. . .

Off with their heads?

Posted by wordforit on February 19, 2009

Or, shoot ’em, burn ’em, and stone ’em??? Please don’t think I am being callous toward the victims this post concerns. Far from it. Rather, I am making a pointed statement directed at those who adhere to the cruelty of sharia, or, Islamic law, and how preposterous it sounds to those of us who would not, could not, and should not consider so-called “honor killing” anything less than First Degree Murder.

If those who want to live in the United States are unable, or, more accurately, unwilling, to adapt and assimilate, are we supposed to accommodate them by applying another country’s laws in US courts?

After reading Joseph Farah’s column at WorldNetDaily on Tuesday, Losing our heads over multiculturalism, I am beyond disgusted and cannot fathom that we are learning of beheadings, a.k.a. “honor killings”, on the scale of what is happening right under our noses in the United States.

Most, I presume, have read or heard about the Muslim businessman in New York from the aforementioned article who beheaded his wife rather than go through a divorce. The atrocity of such an act is despicable enough but the idea of this man being charged with Second-degree murder** (below) is incomprehensible and unconscionable.

According to a current study at The Middle East Quarterly by Phyllis Chesler, Are Honor Killings Simply Domestic Violence?, honor killings are “Carefully planned. Death threats are often used as a means of control.”. Premeditated is not 2nd degree and a man with the likelihood of abusiveness in his history has serious ‘issues’. He does not deserve to be given a lesser sentence on 2nd degree murder! If you disagree, stop for a moment. Close your eyes. Imagine the horror, literally, of someone you know well, and fear, overpowering you and sawing until they have removed your head from your body.

While there is not one ‘simple’ aspect encompassing domestic violence, decapitation is brutally heinous.

Someone, somewhere is thinking ‘it’s not so unreasonable’ to assume that before we kill our spouses we need to first adopt/convert to Islamic beliefs, then we will have the protection of the numerous defense mechanisms organized to circumvent the US judicial system. ( Please do not leave comments defending Muslims who are not violent and want no part of those who do not want to live in peace [kill infidels. . .at your discretion]. I am well aware of them, the same as I am aware that Christians are not all in-your-face types. Christians, however, do not have laws denigrating women or anyone else.).

In the study, P. Chesler reports:

[. . .] The press has reported a number of honor killings in the United States, Canada, and Europe. These cases show the killings to be primarily a Muslim-on-Muslim crime. (See Table 2 and Table 3.) The victims are largely teenage daughters or young women. Wives are victims but to a lesser extent. And, unlike most Western domestic violence, honor killings are carefully planned. The perpetrator’s family may warn the victim repeatedly over a period of years that she will be killed if she dishonors her family by refusing to veil, rebuffing an arranged marriage, or becoming too Westernized. Most important, only honor killings involve multiple family members. Fathers, mothers, brothers, male cousins, uncles, and sometimes even grandfathers commit the murder, but mothers and sisters may lobby for the killing. Some mothers collaborate in the murder in a hands-on way and may assist in the getaway. In some cases, taxi drivers, neighbors, and mosque members prevent the targeted woman from fleeing, report her whereabouts to her family, and subsequently conspire to thwart police investigations.[19] Very old relatives or minors may be chosen to conduct the murder in order to limit jail time if caught.

Seldom is domestic violence celebrated, even by its perpetrators. In the West, wife batterers are ostracized. Here, there is an important difference in honor crimes. Muslims who commit or assist in the commission of honor killings view these killings as heroic and even view the murder as the fulfillment of a religious obligation. A Turkish study of prisoners found no social stigma attached to honor murderers.[20] While advocacy organizations such as CAIR denounce any link between honor killings and Islam, many sheikhs still preach that disobedient women should be punished. Few sheikhs condemn honor killings as anti-Islamic. Honor killings are not stigmatized.” [. . .] (emphasis, and links to charts from here removed, by wfi. The information and charts are enlightening, to say the least, and hopefully enough to cause us to take a stand in speaking , writing, voting and any other means you have available to let it be known that this is unacceptable. At least share the link! We may not be able to personally do anything in other countries, but we can make it known that we do not tolerate hide-behind-Islamic-law nonsense! We do not recognize sharia (Islamic law-Koran) in the United States, and allowing this to go on in Western countries for as long as the above-linked study indicates is descriptive of the hard hearts of our lawmakers, and/or the disinterest when it comes to the difficult task of standing up for principles when it entails risks of being called “racist” in the multiculturalism disorder.

Multiculturalism, indeed.

There are differences state to state defining 1st & 2nd degree murder.

http://www.lectlaw.com/def2/m053.htm MURDER, FIRST DEGREE – In order for someone to be found guilty of first degree murder the government must prove that the person killed another person; the person killed the other person with malice aforethought; and the killing was premeditated.

To kill with malice aforethought means to kill either deliberately and intentionally or recklessly with extreme disregard for human life.

Premeditation means with planning or deliberation. The amount of time needed for premeditation of a killing depends on the person and the circumstances. It must be long enough, after forming the intent to kill, for the killer to have been fully conscious of the intent and to have considered the killing.

First-degree murder in California includes a killing that is “willful, deliberate, and premeditated,” or that is committed in the perpetration, or attempt to perpetrate, certain felonies, including burglary, and not including the petty offense of shoplifting. Cal. Penal Code S 189.
http://www.lectlaw.com/def2/m054.htm MURDER, SECOND DEGREE – In order for someone to be found guilty of second degree murder the government must prove that the person killed another person; the person killed the other person with malice aforethought; and the killing was premeditated. Note that the elements are identical with those for 1st degree murder. The practical difference is the sentences are different. Which crime to charge is usually entirely up to the prosecutor’s discretion. (emphasis by wfi)

I have been trying to ‘get around to’ posting about the illegal aliens who recently sued an Arizona rancher and won $77,000.00 . Imagine what you could do with that amount of money. Now imagine living in Mexico with that amount of money. . . tired of sending US dollars elsewhere. . .

May God Keep You.

‘Mecca Should Determine World Time Zones’

Posted by wordforit on April 25, 2008

Magdi Abdelhadi, BBC News

Muslim scientists and clerics have called for the adoption of Mecca time to replace Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), arguing that the Saudi city is the true centre of the Earth. Mecca is the direction all Muslims face when they perform their daily prayers. The call was issued at a conference held in the Gulf state of Qatar under the title: Mecca, the Centre of the Earth, Theory and Practice. One geologist argued that unlike other longitudes, Mecca’s was in perfect alignment to magnetic north. He said the English had imposed GMT on the rest of the world by force when Britain was a big colonial power, and it was about time that changed. A prominent cleric, Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawy, said modern science had at last provided evidence that Mecca was the true centre of the Earth; proof, he said, of the greatness of the Muslim “qibla” – the Arabic word for the direction Muslims turn to when they pray. The meeting also reviewed what has been described as a Mecca watch, the brainchild of a French Muslim. The watch is said to rotate anti-clockwise and is supposed to help Muslims determine the direction of Mecca from any point on Earth. The meeting in Qatar is part of a popular trend in some Muslim societies of seeking to find Koranic precedents for modern science. It is called “Ijaz al-Koran”, which roughly translates as the “miraculous nature of the holy text”. The underlying belief is that scientific truths were also revealed in the Muslim holy book, and it is the work of scholars to unearth and publicize the textual evidence.

As much effort as it was to get the GMT set correctly for this blog? No way! Let’s see what comes of this one. Are we berated as racists or are we going to be bullied with suicide bombers? Better get the clocks properly set so the world knows what time to bow. Or, do we just buy the Mecca watch?

I’m being facetious, of course, but the concessions and accommodations for Islam are wearing thin, especially when it’s being taught in US public schools and expected to be revered over all else.

Will some decide that Islam ‘ain’t so bad’ or will they miss the good ol’ days when Christians begged for them to receive salvation? The days are dwindling fast and I catch myself automatically watching the heavens these days.

Please, for your sake, not mine or anyone else’s, spend some time seeking Jesus. Not the Jesus that elevates self to a god and not the Jesus who only counts if the words are in red ink (who do you think made the ink red?).  Do you understand the concept of ‘eternity’? Here’s a good place to start: ChristNotes.

“The Last Trance” « Grace County

“The Last Trance” « Grace County

Never has it been more imperative for the saints to have discernment that can only come from a close relationship with the Lord Jesus and having his word hidden in our hearts.

II Corinthians 11:13-14 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”

As if the images from television aren’t deceptive enough, the internet takes things to a whole new level. Here, instead of passive observance, people are prompted to interract via electronic means which brings up another thing that I’ve been pondering lately. The interraction between man and machine is reaching incredible levels; even to the point that, in many instances, voice commands are all that’s required. It’s as though the defining line between man and machine is also becoming obscured. As I watch those around me; even Christians, it becomes astonishing that very few ( I mean VERY few) realize what’s taking place. The world is being conditioned to believe a lie and receive a mark. The strong delusions mentioned in II Thessalonians 2:11are underway as the wheat and chaff are soon to part company.

Please visit Grace County from the link above for the rest of this current and timely post, along with many others. Timbob walks close to Jesus and offers teachings straight from Scripture to help us stay alert and aware of the times in which we are living. We are inundated with news and distractions from every direction; Timbob reminds to be about our Father’s business, allowing Him to control our thoughts and activities, rather than worldly matters. A true blessing and reinforcement in faith. Again, very current and timely messages to truly bless and sustain. ~WordforIt
