Word For It. . .

2Chronicles7:14-“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Liberty Counsel Petition, Protest Silencing (By Feb 7th!)

Posted by wordforit on February 4, 2008

Last week, the anti-faith group Americans United for Separation of Church and State launched a full-scale attack on Liberty Counsel under the title, “More Lies From Lynchburg” (one of Liberty Counsel’s principal locations).Their charge? That Liberty Counsel is lying when we encourage pastors to preach on “biblical and moral issues” in this election year.

AU accused me of getting into “swampy territory” by advising “clergy to preach on ‘biblical and moral issues’ and then ‘discuss positions of the candidates’ on those issues.”

“Swampy territory” for preaching on biblical issues?

+ + Major campaign to silence pastors and churches

This same group has launched a misnamed national campaign called “Project Fair Play” that includes thinly-veiled threats to pastors and churches about possible “church electioneering” and warns that the IRS “can revoke the institution’s tax-exempt status or levy significant fines on the house of worship or its leaders.”

These are classic bullying tactics, and I simply will not let groups like this silence the voice of Christians!

But I cannot fight this battle alone.

+ + Letter of Protest

That is why I am asking you to sign a very important “Letter Of Protest” opposing efforts like this to silence the voice of Christians.

Go here to sign the letter:

http://www.libertyaction.org/288/petition.asp?RID=14951673

+ + 25,000 signatures needed by February 7

I want to deliver 25,000 Letters of Protest directly to Americans United by February 7. I also want to have your Letter of Protest on file so we can quickly respond each time an individual, organization or the media tries to silence people of faith this election year.

Please take a moment to sign and then rally your friends.

Thank you so much for your immediate action, and your prayers.
