Word For It. . .

2Chronicles7:14-“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Our Greatest Need

Posted by wordforit on December 23, 2007

If our greatest need had been information,

God would have sent us an educator;

If our greatest need had been technology,

God would have sent us a scientist;

If our greatest need had been money,

God would have sent us an economist;

If our greatest need had been pleasure,

God would have sent us an entertainer;

But our greatest need was forgiveness, so

God sent us a Savior.

    Great post. I’ve been away from the computer for a few days, and this was a nice “welcome back” thought. I’m thinking that in addition to a Savior, He sent all those other folks too since we all have our unique gifts, purpose, and mission here on Earth. This morning I read a devotion based on Jeremiah 10:23-24 that really made me think. I’d never paid that much attention to those verses before, but now I realize even more that He has plans for us and will direct our paths IF we will listen and obey. Oops, looks like I’ve strayed from the original message, but it’s not the first time, is it?
    LOL, we usually get off on all kinds of paths, don’t we?!?! It struck me last night that in praying, studying and witnessing (whether in word or deed) we are serving the greatest purpose of all. You know how you know but then you just “know”? Anything we do is to be for His Glory and, I totally agree with you, it is imperative to listen and obey His will, not ours. That’s probably the most difficult b/c we’re (subconsciuosly?) sure we understand what’s going on so much better…In the Lord’s Prayer from Matthew 6, we pray (v10),”Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heaven” sort of automatically but it’s a prayer to be in His will.

    Isn’t it great to find new blessings every time we read and meditate?!?!
    In His Love.
