God Answers Prayer…and Lawsuits?

Say it isn’t so! A senator making a mockery of our courts and blaspheming God all in one document? So, it’s okay to frivolously use God’s Holiness but not the judicial system. I think I got it. It’s becoming a nuisance to try and keep up with all the changes!
Does this overlap into the separation of church and state controversy? Can a state lawfully acknowledge a lawsuit against a God who has been removed from many of its institutions in order for the powers-that-be to more effectively apply secular law? Christians have every reason to be outraged at profanity directed at our Lord and Savior!
Someone once told me that we were coming to a time when “what’s right is wrong and what’s wrong is right”. That was several years ago and never did I think I would see a time when American citizens were so irreverently audacious, much less witness the prevalent disregard for ethics and courtesy today’s so-called leaders think they can impose on society.
Isaiah 5:20~ “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
It was not so long ago that a person who had doubts or did not believe at all would show respect to the Almighty even if he or she disdained His followers. It grieves my heart to see well-intentioned Christians incorporating a little here and a little there until a belief system suits their perception. How small the world is when compared to Almighty God’s perception!
Matthew 5:18~ “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
The Lord’s point is that every letter of every word (i.e., jot and tittle) of the Bible is vital and will be fulfilled.
When an individual is a self-proclaimed agnostic, how can they sue someone who may or may not exist? God is being used for drawing attention to matters in an agenda and He is not happy to be a scapegoat. I hope the good folk in Nebraska are discerning enough to see that a motive other than teaching a lesson about wasting the courts’ time is at work. Is this is about time well spent?

I’m sorry, please don’t take this the wrong way. Senator Chambers is a hero for bringing to light the injustice of the Tory Bowen conflict. As you know, rape victim Tory Bowen was ordered by Lancaster District Judge Jeffre Cheuvront not to use a list of words, including “rape”, victim” and a few others during the criminal proceedings against her rapist. The whole point of this exercise was to show how ridiculous our justice system is. If it helps put Bowen’s rapist behind bars, I don’t think God will mind. Thank you.

So, there is not a better way other than using God’s name in vain? By someone who does not have faith in God, no less? God does mind and there are several Bible verses that address “babbling”. I don’t see how this could be considered “intelligent” or “enlightening” and those with a voice have responsibility. It’s an international joke and I am ashamed that more is not being said about how misleading it is that our courts could be used to blaspheme God. Yes, it happens all the time in other ways, but this is more deceitful because of the issues encompassing the action, which is why I focused on the basic fact of not using God’s name in frivolous ways. It brings more attention to what is perceived as humorous in detracting from what is Holy and what people think is humor says a lot about character.
I’m glad you care about what happens to others, but to make God into a laughing matter to our benefit is the wrong approach. For all the good we do, it is for naught if we move away from God to do so.
I respect your opinion and appreciate your advocacy for Tory, but Ernie Chambers is Not a “hero” in any way, shape or form.

I don’t know anything about this situation and have too many other things “on my plate” to learn about it at the moment. However, as I read through the comments, it occurred to me that God is still in control and that at some point, all who blaspheme Him or His name will “rue the day” (one of my mother’s fond expressions). I just had a vision of Herod (Acts 12) begin consumed by worms because he set himself up to be a god. Ugh! I’m not taking any chances.

To the “soldier” who left not one, but two, filthy messages here: I happen to have been raised in a military family and never in my entire life did I hear such nastiness or bad attitude come from any of my family as what you spew. If you don’t like this country and you want to wipe us all out, why don’t you go back to your own little island? I deleted your messages because they were deranged.
