2Chronicles7:14-"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Note: This well-known verse states God's requirements for blessing; humility, prayer, devotion, and repentance. Ryrie Study Bible, KJV

I do not understand your suprise. The Lord said there would be a falling away. Then he was specific in what would happen to them.

2 Thessalonians 2

" And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

And this is exactly what is happening. The people are believing a lie.

But Here is the Good News pertaining to this found in Matthew 24:24

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Now, pay close attention to this: "if it were possible" See the elect will not believe the lie. He is seperating the wheat from the chaff, just as He said He would.

Just keep spreading the good news, but do not try to carry the load. It is HIS fight, Let's pray and Let the Lord do battle for us.

In Jesus Name

Hi, Cash Guy, and thanks for sharing a bit of testimony! I don't think we're expressing surprise and certainly not in the way of thnking God doesn't know exactly what He is talking about. At the same time, I don't think anyone could be prepared for what we're seeing, either.

Thank you for the reminder that it is, indeed, the Lord's battle and our part is to keep persevering and contending for the faith. It truly breaks my heart to see how much power false teachers have claimed over many.

Thank you for dropping a line of encouragement!
May God Bless and Keep You and Yours, In Jesus' Name.

"I thought the Great Commission was our central challenge as Christians - to love God and our neighbor by faithfully and obediently proclaiming His Gospel - to preach the cross - to call sinners to repentance and faith for the forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of Jesus Christ!" This is so true...how quickly we abandon our true mission and purpose.

I read Purpose filled life and found it to be fine..in light of this.. it seemed to be a prep to fool us. I can see how easily one can be sucked into falsehoods without God's Wisom and being soaked in His word. I was in a strong tough bible study for 7 years and you would think I could have seen it. Not! Of course that was about all I knew of RW.

We are really building up to the Anti Christ it seems WFI. All is being prepared.

Btw,I found NewswithViews not too long ago, found it very informative and good.

Thanks WFI once again for an enlightening post.
Hugs :)

WFI reply~ Paul Proctor rocks! I found him on covenant news, which is how I found news with views, and love his common sense teaching/writing! He has great insights on this and other "societal woes" (his name is linked to his article archives).

What seems to happen with the Purpose series (purpose...life, pupose...church, etc.) is that everyone gets so caught up in the 'me' factor (again) that Jesus gets waylaid. In the post about Oprah and Tolle, the link to Berit Kjos' site has a study and this particular link discusses 'Resisters':http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/04/4-purpose-resisters.htm This is the "emerging church" we keep reading about. As you say, it's all coming about to usher in the antiChrist and many are struggling for it as hard as we are resisting.

A church I was going to began to use one of the books on Tuesday nights and I walked out b/c it (literally) got to a point that we only needed a dictionary (that's another story about knowing there will be a precise vocabulary test---nothing to do w/ RW) and RW's book. I think it could be used in Bible study but not to replace God's Word, which was mine and others' experience across the country. It's no small feat to find a group of true believers.

Incidentally, if you look up RW's Saddleback Church, you'll see it's more of a compound than church grounds. In recent months, the individuals he has welcomed to the pulpit and now embracing false doctrines, I worry about him and those he leads.

Keep Praying!
Love & Hugs.
